Episode 7, Part 1 - Carl Long Racing

231

Perhaps no driver from 2004 exemplified the spirit of the “field fillers” better than Carl Long. For the soft-spoken man they call “The Long Shot,” qualifying was always the true battleground – to race was the reward. Yet no matter how unforgiving the clock, nor how challenging the obstacles, Long never lost his sense of humor. So, when a shocking accident destroyed his only car, the fans came out in support. And when a technical infraction led to an unprecedented penalty, he never gave up.
