The tank crew under the command of Senior Lieutenant Anton Starostin was ambushed. A rocket hit the right side of the tank, Anton received a through shrapnel wound in his arm, a closed shrapnel wound in his leg and multiple shrapnel wounds in his back. Wounded and shell-shocked, he continued the fight. During the battle, Starostin's crew destroyed 8 armored vehicles and 30 Nazis.
