The United States was suffering from a meat shortage and at the same time, Louisiana's waterways were infested with water hyacinth. Louisiana Congressman Robert Broussard had a plan to let loose hippopotamus in Louisiana. This Louisiana History Minute introduces you to Representative Broussard and the American Hippo Act.
