Los Angeles County has a vaccine mandate for all its employees. If an employee receives and exemption, he or she must get tested weekly through one company - and one company only - to stay employed.

In February 2022, an anonymous tipster contacted me. She is an LA County employee. She expressed concerns about Los Angeles County's partnership with a Chinese-American genetics company based in Temple City. It's called Fulgent Genetics, which is primarily owned by Blackrock and Vanguard. It was founded by a Chinese-American billionaire named Ming Hsieh.

It took me months to get my hands on the multimillion dollar, no-bid contract and all the public records, but I finally did in late April. In this video, I interview one county employee about the shocking privacy concerns that Sheriff Villanueva said the FBI shared.

Per my deep dive of the contract, L.A. County isn't liable if anything goes wrong.

Los Angeles County has repeatedly emphasized to me that Fulgent destroys COVID-19 samples 48 hours after processing and does not share patient's personal or genetic information with the Chinese government.

Follow along with me as I comb through the detailed documents and money trail. Hsieh's fellow USC alum County Supervisor Hilda Solis pushed for the contract.
