Man killed at homeless camp in Seattle's University District | Seattle Real Estate Podcast

A man was killed in a shooting early Monday at a homeless camp in the Ravenna neighborhood at the north end of Seattle's University District, officials said.

Police and medics responded to the scene, in the 1400 block of NE Ravenna Boulevard, at about 5:10 a.m. after receiving several reports of shots fired.

A 31-year-old man was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. Medics attempted life-saving efforts but were unsuccessful, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, said David Cuerpo of the Seattle Fire Department.

According to witnesses, the victim left his tent to speak with the suspect right before the shots were heard. After shooting the victim, the suspect fled the scene, police said.
