Polaris Ranger Northstar Ultimate backup camera hack when you add a rear bumper/brush guard

I know that I am not the only one that has encountered this! Join me for another Polaris Ranger Northstar Ultimate vlog (Although this could apply to any Polaris Ranger Northstar, or other UTV with backup cameras) as I try to improve the sight line of the rear backup camera on my 2022 Polaris Ranger Northstar Ultimate crew machine! I ordered a brush guard/rear bumper from Polaris and noticed that I can not see very far in the backup camera the way the rear bumper sits. After contacting Polaris, my dealer told me that they suggested trying some washers as spacers on the rear backup camera mount. Of course this was the first thing that my buddy Phil and I thought of also, but I wanted to hear from Polaris as well. In today's episode I will give this theory a try and show you the steps of lowering the rear backup camera if you have a rear UTV bumper that blocks some of the view. Anyone can do this hack to improve their sight line for a rear backup camera, but if you are into fabrication and have your own shop, a better solution can easily be made. Then we'll hop in the new 2022 Polaris Ranger XP 1000 Northstar Ultimate for a short ride down our mile long gravel drive and then down the dead end road that we live on here in Southern, Illinois. (I'm not sure that I have every shown the rest of our dead end road here). Anyway the result's were mixed. While I could now see several feet farther back with the new backup cam mount, it was not quite as far as I had hoped I would. Although I was only using the screws that I had available in my shop, and if I'd have had a longer screw available this would be for sure 100% resolved! But hey, at this point I'll take a win now that I can see several more feet to the rear with the backup cam, we got to enjoy a nice, late winter day here in Southern Illinois being 61 and sunny, and we got to take a short ride in the new Polaris Northstar Ultimate! Thanks for joining me today and stay tuned for many more updates like this and some new riding videos! Also at the end of this video I'll give some info on a YouTube trail ride that I would like to host in the very near future! Thanks for joining us today!
