Chicago, Illinois --- The Chicago Police Department released body cameras, 911 calls, surveillance video, ShotSpotter audio, dash cam and other materials of an officer-involved shooting that occurred on May 16, 2021, near 1500 North Lawndale Avenue.

The Chicago Police Department was notified of shots fired near the 3600 Block of West Douglas Boulevard. Once in the area responding officers were given a description of the suspected individual later identified as 45-year-old Bruce Lua by a local resident. After locating the individual, officers verbally engaged but were ignored as the suspect continued down an alley in the direction of other responding officers. Officers again verbally engaged the individual who then discharged a firearm, striking two officers. Officers returned fire striking the suspect. Both officers and the suspect were transported to local hospitals and survived
