Blancpain celebrated its second revival in 1982 with a small presentation of a collection of ultra-sophisticated mechanical watches. This event provided an increase in the rating of Swiss watches, after ousting them from the market with a cheap analog of Japanese products. It was this brand that offered the first version of a diving watch designed in 1953 by French military divers Bob Maloubier and Claude Riffaut.
