Our leaders eagerly undermine our country and its people while speaking reverently of “our democracy.” What do they mean by this?

Primarily: their increasingly concentrated and unaccountable power and influence, and the efforts they must undertake to protect this arrangement despite the public’s growing discontent. As such, this episode studies the desperate and frenzied reactions to Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter and the prospect of President Trump’s return to politics.

This episode also zeroes in on a key liability for the GOP in 2022 and 2024: embittered, unpopular establishment Republicans seeking vengeance against President Trump and his voters for relegating them to eternal irrelevance.
