A tribute to the moon and highlighting of the composer's intrigue with outer space, "Moon's Last Phase" is the second of Isaac Glover's compositions dedicated to the final frontier. This song, however, is different from most in that it was the first to be written for a full symphonic orchestra rather than the usual symphonic and concert bands. This song also has two opposing themes juxtaposed to each other but are not divided into movements, nor are they divided by a transition. This, along with the composition itself (including the name), is derived from a Biblical verse that warns of the days before the Jesus' return to earth.
