Hello everyone again I apologize for any audio issues we had due to the remote cable plugged into the iPhone would wipe out the microphone and unfortunately we didn’t learn this until later on in the day. We took another couple with us down to Picayune Forest to do the trails. I checked with the forestry service and they gave me the link to pay the two dollar entry fee that you have to pay online to allow access . We saw no patrols and only one other vehicle but it was a holiday. The online service worked fine however it doesn’t send you the pass in the email. The system emails you a receipt for your $2.00 payment. So you can print it out before you go or just show the email to any ranger that might ask. The trails are pretty good some are a little bit tight. Mostly sand, I’m told that in the wet months many of these roads are flooded and impassable. The trails will lead you to a large area of paved intersecting streets some with street signs and the occasional stop sign. This area from what I understand is from a real estate scam back in the 1980s it was called Port of the Islands development. The remaining streets are in pretty good condition and there is clearly some work going on right now as there is heavy equipment parked in the area and a lot of brush that has been dug up so they may be planning on developing the area in the future. The only wildlife we saw were two deer and some birds a but it was a fun day, easy trails highly recommended.
