Worried about food shortages? You don't need a lot of land to practice a simple act that creates food security that a lot of homesteaders do. You can raise your own backyard chickens for meat in what's called a chicken tractor. More on that later. In just 8 to 10 weeks, you will have a freezer full of chicken you raised that can feed a family for 1 year! Not only that, but raising backyard chickens on a homestead or small yard will also build soil, capture carbon, add fertility to your land, create an abundance of life, and nurioush you and your family like no grocery store ever could. This can start your journey on breaking free from factory farmed foods and create food security. Food shortages will not be a worry any more!

In this video we mostly look at raising cornish cross chickens, but this method can be used for raising chickens for meat, regardless of the age. You can even raise chickens for eggs in a similar manner. Just add laying boxes, and you are set!

Homesteading methods like this one can be used even in small yard. In this video, we look at raising backyard chickens on just 5,000 sq ft of land. That's less than 1/8th of an acre! Each year you do this, your backyard chickens will make your soil more productive, yielding more and more nutrients either for growing grass or for a garden!

We use what's called chicken tractors to allow for movement and encourage freshness. Chicken tractors are a small moveable shelter that will house your chickens, but easy to move by hand. Raising cornish cross in chicken tractors is a tired and true method and many homesteaders and backyard chicken keepers use them because of all their benefits.

A 8 to 10 week project to feed you and your family for 1 year! Now that's how we start to fight food shortages!

Because of food shortages, homesteading has been taking off. People are wanting to start their own homestead is a growing trend, and given current events, it makes sense.
