Tornado tears through parts of US state of Kansas

A powerful tornado has left a path of destruction after sweeping through the US state of Kansas - in the Midwest.
Several people have been injured and more than 15,000 people were left without power after the twister moved through parts of Wichita and Andover on Friday evening, local time.
More than 1000 buildings have been damaged.
The governor of Kansas has declared a state of disaster emergency in the aftermath of the weather event.
