COP FIRED AFTER THIS DEADLY CRASH CAUGHT ON SURVEILLANCE + #BODYCAM

Surveillance and bodycam video released by the Houston Police Department shows officer Christopher Cabrera crashing into and killing 75-year-old driver Charles Payne with a patrol SUV on December 26, 2021. Cabrera could face a charges including manslaughter or the grand jury could choose to not file charges. When asked, Sean Teare, chief of the vehicular crimes division for the Harris County District Attorney's office, declined to say how fast investigators think Officer Cabrera was driving.

In the last five years, across 337 crashes involving Houston cops, this one is the eighth-time an on-duty police officer was involved in a car accident that killed a citizen, according to information published by Chron. Of these 337 crashes, police officers were found to be at fault nearly 40 percent of the time.

Zero officers have died as result of an on-duty wreck during the same time-frame.
