Showing how to get free plants, and how to easily duplicate your plants.
On your milkweed plants, reach at bottom of plant where there is a sprout that appears to be on its own stem, reach gently into the soil and pinch you may get a tiny root with it if not, just clip it slightly at an angle, dip in root powder you get at farm and feed stores or garden centers, and either put directly into soil or water depending on the species. Just look up each one which is best method to do clippings.
When you see random plant clippings or tree branches that may have broken off or fallen in transport, it may well be a new plant!
Of course on private property ask the owner if it is ok.
Never of course, plant anything that is on the ground that looks like could have fungus or disease. Check for each species to see what pictures of fungus or disease looks like for that species before using for a clipping.
