Is former President Donald Trump poised to return to Twitter?

The social media platform permanently suspended his @realDonaldTrump account last year, two days after the Jan. 6 attacks on the United States Capitol, citing inflammatory tweets that risked “further incitement of violence.”

The account had been Trump’s direct line of unfiltered communication to the public, through which the president had fired federal officials and driven days-long news coverage with his posts.
