Most of the real estate podcast shows are out there are REALLY just about the people on the show.. how much they like each other, and it's a lot of back slapping and pretend. Every Beyond the Baseboards episode, the main focus is YOU.

There are some episodes of Beyond the Baseboards that obviously speak directly to real estate agents - but often we talk about things from a business of them as a business leader or expert in a specific area of their business that relates to all business.

Real Estate Agents are among the most incredible people in business today. I know that might sound silly, but if you are in this business you already know. The competition is ridiculous, the access to education is minimal (unless you are paying for it) and even there - it's mostly not very good. It's REALLY REALLY hard to climb any kind of ladder.. and pretty much you have the world of technology, corporations, and even their own brokerages working against them. It's just like a modern day gladiator arena.

In order to be a successful real estate agent, you have to be great at SO many things beyond the contract and client aspects of it. It's extremely difficult and you have all these things working against you AND YET - people are quitting their comfortable day jobs everyday because they believe in themselves...they are willing to struggle with disappointment and rejection and the brutality of this business.. while remaining good people who believe that they can do more, and make a positive difference in the lives of others. I'm not saying that ALL agents are like that... haha, no. But the vast majority of people in that business are there to help others and I think it's inspiring.
