The Real Reasons Teachers are Leaving Orange County Schools, NC

County Commissioner Earl McKee says the reasons he is being told that teachers are leaving are NOT the reasons the school board is saying they are leaving. Some of the real reasons are workload, lack of discipline in schools between teachers and students, lack or respect between management and teachers, lack of support from central office staff, teachers were talking to him about salary and compensation as a reason for leaving, yet this was presented to the commissioners as the reason. Are the school boards only focused on requesting more money for salaries, hoping this will retain teachers? Or should they admit there are bigger issues that need to be repaired and focus on the root of the problem? Will money save our teachers?
