Nimrod and The Antichrist Connection

The ancient Prophets foretold of an age when humanity will unify the world. This age would be marked by unprecedented technological advancements. The prophets spoke of a One World government that would form and be headed by a figure that has lurked in the shadows of history, awaiting the appointed time to reveal himself. Long ago, following the flood of Noah, a man named Nimrod partially succeeded in achieving this aim. In defiance of the Lord God, he united and led the world to build the infamous Tower of Babel whose height would ascend to Heaven. But the Lord Himself came down and confounded their language. The people, no longer unified, were scattered, and the tower was never completed.
However, the prophets spoke of a time when a Nimrod-like figure would rise in the future and would succeed where Nimrod had failed, uniting the world in defiance of God once more. We call him the "wicked one," "the son of perdition," "the antichrist." Is it possible that the pandemic of 2020 and the current events of 2021, with calls for "A GREAT GLOBAL RESET" by our leaders, are signals to us that the days prophesied have arrived? Is the Return of the Lord Jesus Christ at hand?
