On Boeing's annual shareholder meeting on April 29, 2022, the Free Enterprise Project (FEP) questioned executives about the company's commitment to DEI policies. Below is the question FEP asked, and this clip includes the question - as Boeing reworded it - and answer given.

In recent years, Boeing has announced its support for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs. As part of Boeing’s efforts, it has set goals to increase the number of minority employees, analyzed job groups to identify and close representation gaps, and required hiring managers to take bias mitigation training.

What steps has Boeing taken to ensure that these DEI hiring and training efforts do not discriminate against qualified prospective job candidates who do not meet the company’s definition of “diverse” and to otherwise ensure that its employees receive fair consideration for
career advancement regardless of surface characteristics such as race or sex? Especially given recent safety concerns over Boeing’s airplanes, shouldn’t its employees be hired based only on
merit?
