Common Bronzewing - Phaps chalcoptera Columbidae

When daily feeding my visiting friends the King Parrots, Rainbow Lorikeets and occasional not so welcome Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, I always throw down some food for the ground-feeding Bronzewings. Note the gorgeous colours of this chubby bird glinting in the sunlight as he struts about foraging. You can read about them at www.birdlife.org.au
