Maximum vs Limited Palette | QUICK ART TUTORIAL | Oil Stick Art | Carol Zirkle Montana Artist

This is just a fun experiment I did to see if there is any difference in painting the same piece twice using 33 colors vs 5 colors (CYM and white). What do you think?

I am a Montana artist residing in the beautiful high plains desert in southwestern Montana, also called the Big Sky Country! My paintings are heavily inspired by the colorful skies and it's effect on the colors of the land. I work primarily in oil sticks, and sometimes tubed oils using the CYMK palette. The vast majority of what I share here on YouTube involves my creative process: paintings, time lapses, tips, techniques, and how I do some of the technical and marketing tasks involved with being an artist today.

In 2000, I left a corporate job of 19 years, sold my house the next day and drove 1000 miles from Minneapolis to Montana the next day. I didn't know anyone here at the time, but have found a love filled life and am so glad I followed my passion, and hope you do too! PASSION ON!!
