Dynamic (Growing)
Static (Grown)
Entropic (Dying)

All relationships are in one of these three phases. Anything not growing is dying.

The Truth About Marriage Trouble
Long before serious marriage problems set in, the relationship has left the dynamic state. Like a car that begins to rust, and the shine is gone, it becomes:

-Unattractive
-Weak
-Inoperable

Q. What can I do to revive my marriage?

A. Romance-one of the most important but least understood areas of marriage. It is an ingredient in every successful courtship.

Many People Think:

-It is ONLY for women or it is a section in a bookstore.

TRUTH: It’s a deep need and desire for everyone.

-It is a feeling you can’t control (Mood).

TRUTH: It is an atmosphere YOU create and have total control over.

-It is seasonal extra, not a daily part of life.

TRUTH: It is an essential daily element in a successful marriage.

THE IMPORTANCE OF ROMANCE

Romance does 3 things for your relationships:

It is your Emotional Cornerstone.

Promotes and Protects your relationship

Closes the door on outside temptation.

THE CHEMICAL ELEMENTS OF ROMANCE

Meeting an Unspoken Need or Desire

When we “fall” in love we are
- Highly focused
- Pro-active

True Romance says:
You are on my heart.
I am paying attention to you.

The CORE issue:
We all want to be desired.
Romance is the language of desire.
Half-How I feel about you.
Half-How you make me feel.

Speaking Love In Your Spouse’s Language.

All Major Needs Are Different:

Men (top needs - no particular order):
Honor
Physical Act of Intimacy
Playmate
Domestic Support

Women (top needs - no particular order):
Security
Communication
Affection
Leadership

What Romance Looks Like -

For Her:
All Day Long
Slow Talking
Affection

For Him:
Naked
Sex
Honor
Fun

ROMANCE IS A LANGUAGE DEMONSTRATION NOT A LESSON.
Great marriages are bi-lingual.
LEARN to speak your spouses language

Communicating Unique Value To Your Spouse -
Two things are needed for success in this area:
Consistency
Communicated in different ways.
Verbally
Comparative (What I am willing to give up for you)
Contributed (what I want to give to the relationship.)
Creative (be unique)

APPLICATION:

ROMANCE is ESSENTIAL.

ROMANCE is for EVERYONE

ROMANCE is an ENVIRONMENT WE COMPLETELY CONTROL BY OUR WILL AND NOT OUR EMOTIONS.

ROMANCE IS:

-Meeting unspoken needs and desires.

-Speaking love in our spouses language.

-Communicating value to your spouse.

KEYS TO RENEWING YOUR ROMANCE

-Forgive your spouse.

-Focus on yourself and take responsibility for your own issues.

-Ask the Holy Spirit To Fill You Daily.
