Tetris 99 - Daily Missions #1 (4/13/21)

While I'm waiting for the DLC missions for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity to drop later this month, I thought I'd get back into the Nintendo Switch's other ongoing retro battle royale game Tetris 99 and complete some more of my goals there.

A recent update allowed you to buy all of the special Maximus Cup event themes for 30 tickets apiece, but I already won them all during the events so that's irrelevant to me. But I still need to unlock all of the normal themes, and the only way to do that is to obtain tickets from completing Daily Missions (maximum of 4 per day) and buy them for 15 tickets apiece. There is also a player emblem unlockable by holding 999 tickets at once, so that will take me quite a while!

This was recorded back in April as I regained my interest in this game just after Pac-Man 99 dropped. Surprisingly, I was able to find matches quicker in this game than in Pac-Man 99.

This set of daily missions exposed my lack of skill at setting up T-Spins but also got me a new high score in 999 Line Marathon mode with just shy of 13 million points!

0:00 - Mission 1: Finish in the top 50 a total of 3 times in CPU battles
22:20 - Mission 2: Complete a total of 5 T-Spins in Marathon Mode (New High Score!)
1:06:28 - Missions 3&4: Use the Hold Queue 5 times and counter 10 garbage lines in Tetris 99 online battles
