What I am planting now. 🌱 moringa update, making new beds 🌱

Staring seed indoors in January comes with challenges. Having the space, equipment, and know how to start seeds is an incorporated skill and is developed through experience. Our third year starting herbs, flowers, perennial, for the garden.

Remember the moringa seeds? They sprouted and we moved them over to a 1gal pot and placed them into the bathroom to continue their development.

What seeds are we starting in January? We share some of the seeds that will be grown out this season, and drop more seeds into the dirt.

Echinacea is planted and salvia!

New planting beds are started and the food forest expansion process also begins to take shape.

We use natural gardening techniques to build a diverse natural ecosystem in the gardens. Slowly replacing common species, with perennial food producing species.

What to see how permaculture and food forest work? This is a very young food forest. Foundation tree plantings are still happening. This year we will focus on establishing our new fruit trees, and removing the unproductive or undesirable nuisance plants. Working with nature and its natural cycles.

Zone 7A/8B we are in a boundary zone micro climate on the banks of a seasonal creek. Expanding the food production, natural ecosystems that will blend food production, medicinals, and aesthetic plantings. To support bees, butterflies, and all the beautiful life on this garden.
