Joseph Haydn - “The Seven Last Words of Our Savior on the Cross” (Orchestra)

Pianíssimo Orchestra of Belo Horizonte, conducted by Maestro César Timóteo, performing the work “The Seven Last Words of Our Savior on the Cross” by Joseph Haydn. The work, inspired by the seven last words of Jesus on the Cross, was created in 1785 by the composer, following a commission from the Spanish bishop of the Cathedral of Cádiz.

- Sonata IV – Deus meus, Deus meus, utquid dereliquisti me? (My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?);
- Sonata V – Sitio (I thirst);
- Sonata VI – Consummatum est (It is finished);
- Sonata VII – In manus tuas Domine, commendo spiritum meum (Father, into your hands I commend my spirit);
- II terremoto (The earthquake).
