Kenisha Mei was a registered nurse in the traditional healthcare system and is now a health and wellness professional. She joins us in studio to discuss a new venture she and other like-minded healthcare professionals are involved in, that will change the face of healthcare for the better. Join us as she talks passionately about her desire to provide a whole-istic medical service which birthed YYC Rocks, an alternative western medical service that is growing nationwide.

On the New Paradigm of Health Care in Canada…

YYC Rocks provides alternate medical services, it's an acronym that stands for Rebuilding Our Community with Kindness and Sustainability. YYC Rocks is a grassroots movement…we've been reaching out and networking with as many healthcare professionals as we can, who are against the mandates, who are standing up for freedom of choice and who really want to make a difference for the people.

On what YYC Rocks Provides to its patients…

We are not about just masking things, throwing pills. It's about Western medicine. You have to appreciate both. Our focus definitely is health promotion, prevention and that supportive care we're very much about teaching. You are a participant of your own care. So, you're actively involved and you have this amazing collaborative team beside you to help guide you, to help you optimize your health and wellness. We have respiratory therapists, nurses, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, acupuncture, chiropractors, optometrists and we have a great mental health team.

On transitioning from the broken education paradigm …

YYC Rocks is a private membership association…we know we're going to be a target and we know this is not conventional how we're going about it, but it needs to be done. The people supporting us and who align with us really want to be a part of the private membership association, it's people that you can rely on and trust. And for the first time in the past two years, it's just so nice for me to be able to know that I have people in the medical field that I can trust and rely on and count on, and they would do anything for me and I would do the same for them.
