HP Jetdirect LAN Accessory FAIL EMFCrux 0013

Trying to get an HP Jetdirect LAN Accessory to work with an HP DeskJet 3630 in an attempt to add the printer to a wired network. Didn't work.
Probably not compatible, but the package said it was an evaluation unit, and wondering if the unit was just DOA.
