Worried about WW3? Watch out for Solar Flares, too, eg: Asia Radio Blackout/Quebec Grid Down

I mistakenly said the Quebec power outage was March of 2021, turns out that was the date of the article I was reading. The big power outage in Quebec happened in 1989, due to solar flares going on then. (Not to give away my age, but I remember that event happening like it was 2021!) Here's more info:

Solar flares are normal and have a cycle of around 11 years. They have caused problems in the past and will continue to do so. Luckily, they don't affect everything on Earth - just the area currently facing straight on to the sun. Still, it's wise to guard against such things as it'll also help guard against other electrical grid down situations as well, no matter their cause - natural or man-made.
