Inside the outside of Hurricane Michael's powerful winds

The year was 2018 and Hurricane Michael made landfall late into the season (in October) and we were lucky enough not to get ANY of the rain bands from the system and instead, we got the heavy winds so I crunched some data and convinced a friend to experience the full force of the winds here on the Georgia Coast (without being in any real danger - it was low tide and we were way out in the middle of the beach).

The reason I'm holding the American Flags in the video was as a tribute/salute to YouTuber Lane Pittman who had a couple of videos go viral after being outside in a hurricane with a huge American Flag and headbanging to Slayer, the gods of heavy metal! You can check out one of his most popular videos here and see where the inspiration came from although I'll never have hair like this OR get in the middle of the street during a hurricane but either way, kudos to Lane for having the guts to pull this off!
