straight from the US Army survival handbook it states that if you are having trouble starting fire to use bug Repellent to help with starting your fire. This is a great tip for survival, bushcraft, camping and Hiking. it helps when using primitive fire starting techniques such as bow drill, hand drill, char cloth etc.
