Biden Says He Tried to Call Macron But He Was ‘Having a Great Time at the Eiffel Tower’

President Joe Biden said on Monday that he felt good about Emmanuel Macron’s victory in the French presidential election and had tried to call him, but Macron was too busy “having a good time. ” to the Eiffel Tower to speak.

“I feel good about the French elections,” Biden told reporters at Joint Base Andrews on his way back to the White House after a weekend in Wilmington, Del.

He said he tried to speak to Macron on Sunday evening, after Macron was declared the winner over conservative candidate Marine Le Pen.
