YOUNG MUSICIANS REACT TO AMPLIFIED SOUND BAN

These young musicians were shocked to sit in the Board of Aldermen meeting only to learn they can never use a microphone and speaker on the downtown streets of New Bern unless given permission by the government.

This is due to an outright ban on amplified sound -including bullhorns- proposed by police Chief Gallagher and passed unanimously by the aldermen, with Harris being absent.

The Aldermen appeared to like that the girls sprung, into action after the vote, but none were willing to change their minds about the issue.
