It's WEIRD, But I KINDA LIKE IT! - The Illusione Rothschildes - CIGAR REVIEWS by CigarScore

Over the years, I've had mixed reviews of Illusione cigars. But when I did the unboxing video of CigarClub's July 2021 box, multiple people told me I needed to review today's cigar, the Illusione Rothschildes. So, here we go!

First off, the Illusione Rothschildes is a good-looking cigar. Although it's fairly short, it has a good feel to it. The wrapper has just a tiny bit of oil on it, it's somewhat marbled, and it's got a nice texture.

After using my deep v-cutter, the draw was tight, and I could feel a hard spot behind the label.

Once torched, the Illusione Rothschildes tasted bold, spicy, and a little bit weird, but I kinda liked it!

Through the middle of the Illusione Rothschildes, the construction continued to be questionable. The draw remained tight, and there was a hollow spot toward the end of the first third. The cigar also burned unevenly.

Final Thoughts

Despite all of the issues I experience with this cigar, I actually liked the flavors in the Illusione Rothschildes. As far as the taste of the cigar, this is my favorite Illusione cigar. The Mexican San Andres wrapper really rounds out the cigar and adds some sweetness and complexity I enjoyed.

However, there were some significant construction issues that cannot be ignored. The draw was bad for most of the cigar, and I had to relight or touch up the cigar multiple times.

While I would probably smoke this cigar again, there were a lot of construction problems, so the Illusione Rothschildes earns a CigarScore 3.
