Residents of the Ukrainian town of Slavutych, where workers at the defunct Chornobyl plant live, held a night vigil to mark the 36th anniversary of the nuclear disaster on Tuesday (April 26). Slavutych is about 50 kilometers (31 miles) from Chornobyl where the No. 4 reactor exploded on April 26, 1986, releasing large amounts of radiation into the atmosphere.
