Day 2 - More than your mind (13:45)
Today we focus on More Than Your Mind – as we seek to unlock the power of our thoughts to infuse our lives with wellness, clarity and purpose.

Negative thinking can contribute to problems such as social anxiety, depression, stress, and low self-esteem. It can increase our blood pressure and our risk for heart disease. It can deplete our immune systems making us more susceptible to infection and disease. It can result in gastrointestinal problems and interrupted sleep patterns. And it can cloud our judgment, provoking us to take action that affects our relationships.

You are not affected by negative self-talk you say?

Day 2 Practices
DEVELOPING AWARENESS. Begin with some deep belly breaths as we learned to do yesterday. We are going to take “mind” inventory...noticing how our minds are doing at supporting our recharge, by taking charge of our mind. For today’s practice, you’ll need to take a few notes – in your journal, on your smartphone – or even on sticky notes. As you move through today, write down any negative thoughts you may have...catch them and write them down...Don’t push them away, for they won’t hurt you, in fact they may actually be in service to you. For now, when someone comes to you with an idea, and you put it down, naysay it or have any negative thoughts around it, write that down. When you have a negative thought – about yourself or another – write it down. When you have a worry, write it down. If your mind is obsessing about a thought, write it down. Try not to miss a single one. All the negative, nay-saying, non supportive messages and thoughts...Write them down. At the end of the day, count them up...

REFRAMING AND REDIRECTING OUR MINDS. Rather than pushing these negative thoughts aside and burying them, we are going to reframe and redirect them. Pick three of the negative thoughts and reframe them, coming from a place of possibility, expansiveness, and adventure. What would it have felt like had it been a “yay” rather than a “nay?” What would have been the experience had it been a loving rather than an unloving thought?
