As you may know, the new Baofeng UV-5R radios are "locked" and cannot transmit on GMRS frequencies or FRS channels (which are the same as GMRS). But many "online experts" and know-it-alls have been spreading a rumor that you can easily hack the new Baofeng UV-5R radios and make them transmit on FRS and GMRS frequencies through this "one simple trick" in the CHIRP software.
