The Adagio in G minor for violin, strings and organ continuo, is a neo-Baroque composition popularly attributed to the 18th century Venetian master Tomaso Albinoni, but in fact composed almost entirely by the 20th century musicologist and Albinoni biographer Remo Giazotto.

Tomaso Giovanni Albinoni (Venice, June 8, 1671 - Venice, January 17, 1750) was an Italian Baroque composer, born in the Republic of Venice. Famous in his time as a composer of operas, he is now best known for his instrumental music, some of which is regularly re-recorded. He massified his music, but thanks to his melodic talent and personal style he was as popular at the time as Arcangelo Corelli and Antonio Vivaldi.
