A common theme in the worlds of prepping and liberty (which must coexist to be real - topic for another day) is the concept of building a community. And to be clear a local community of people that know one another in real life. People that can trade resources with one another, help one another and provide services to one another. The idea is since one person can’t ever be fully self sufficient, perhaps a larger group can.

Let me be clear there are nation states that are not fully 100% self sufficient. It is likely that most could be if they made the right decisions but it is highly unlikely that your “prepper group” can even get half way there. The solution, don’t try and yet do what you can with what you have. For it to have any chance of success though all members should be able to clearly answer the simple question, “what value do you have” and that value will need to both be useful both inside the group and in the broader market.
