Race is oftentimes viewed in one of two ones: as an immutable characteristic that is ultimately insignificant, or a social construct that determines the fate of certain groups. Color Us United firmly believes, however, that "race" is not necessarily either. Rather, race is a set of activities that anyone can practice and which are only incidentally associated with skin color. Race is not any more significant than height, eye color, hair color, or any other physical characteristic. If this is true, why does American society fixate on race as if it is the height of meaning?
