Scot Stoddard - Making Majestic Hera

Hera is the wife of Zeus, the Queen of the Gods, and the Olympian goddess of marriage. A majestic and matronly figure, Hera was both patroness and protectress of married women, presiding over weddings and blessed marital unions.

Hera's marriage to Zeus, however, was not an easy one. Zeus was prone to having many affairs, of which Hera did not approve! Hera is known for her jealousy and vengefulness, and even Zeus, commonly portrayed as fearless, feared her rage. Hera's jealousy towards all of Zeus' lovers caused her to continually torment them, and Zeus was powerless to stop his wife.

Majestic Hera will be the opening track of the coming album by Scot Stoddard and Catherine Corelli titled "The Olympians". In this track we have tried to show a number of things, the first being the wide range of emotions displayed and conveyed by Hera herself; that being the happiness and bliss of marriage in contrast to the vengefulness and jealousy of Hera towards the lovers of Zeus. And with instrumental music being our media here, we have done our best to convey that range of emotions through the music written.

Secondly, through Majestic Hera, we have tipped our hat as to the content of the other 13 tracks on the album, the genres and styles we will be covering, we've given a glimpse of the instrumental we'll be using, and introduced the overall theme of a tribute to Greek mythology.

We are documenting through video footage the making of this album and will be bringing to you a series of videos of the recording sessions and events surrounding the making of each song. We hope you enjoy the videos and listening to our music!
