ANZAC Day and the fight for freedom. Episode 106 of The Charles Kovess Show

In this week's Episode, I recall and remember Anzac Day and why we in Australia remember it, honour it and indeed make it a public holiday on 25 April each year.

Anzac Day is remembered because it was all about a fight for freedom way back in 1915, on the 25th of April, in 1915, in Gallipoli, part of Turkey.

Why is it worth fighting for Freedom? Would you give your life to fight for freedom?

Many Australians did in World War One and World War Two.

Are you willing to fight for your freedom today? How would you actually do that? How would you fight for freedom?

The tragedy for me today is that in the west research shows that a majority of people, when asked "Would you give away your freedom for security?", a majority of people say "Yes, give me security ahead of freedom".

I think that's a lousy choice. I think that majority choice is made through lack of clear thinking.

I hope this episode will help you to clarify your thinking about this question of how important freedom is for you.
