Dragon Quest III is one of the most popular JRPGs in Japan, and is beloved by longtime fans of the series. Is the acclaim justified?
Dragon Quest III was developed by Chunsoft and released in 1988 by Enix for the Nintendo Famicom. It is the final entry in the Erdrick trilogy started by the first Dragon Quest (a.k.a. Dragon Warrior), the game that kickstarted the JRPG genre, and came to the West as Dragon Warrior III for the NES in 1992. It later got a Western re-release for various platforms as Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation.
