It's a hot dry day, I'm tilling between beds on level contour to excavate soil to mound potatoes. After a few hours of getting shaken to death, I take a break to review the Husqvarna DRT900H.

If you want to buy a tiller, then this review is for you. Introducing the fastest way to break up hard soil will surprise you. The Husqvarna DRT900H, that's "DRT" for dirt, a tiller for those who already tilled with something else.

For those without a BCS two-wheel tractor, or a tiny garden, then might be the tiller for you. it makes great mulch but doesn't have the power to get through deep hard Virginia clay. It doesn't get through hard-pack soil.

BONUS: Review on the Kershaw 1605CKR Assisted Steel Folding knife. A trusty pocket knife for everyday carry.

Tillage is being used in a permaculture environment to terrace, level paths, and make mulch. There isn't anything wrong with the Husqvarna if you are cleaning up paths between plants, because the paddle tines only work in already soft soil.

Long grass gets caught up in tines, tillage is only used initially to break up the soil. Tillage is also used to loosen soil that might be mound around plants. To avoid damaging soil structure no-dig and no-till beds are best.
