Happy Pretendependence Day, Murica'! Tonight, a full performance of "Terrapin Station" by the Grateful Dead, followed by an in-depth consideration of the true meaning, importance of, and potential paths to real independence. From the original rebellion of the Gnostic Lucifer, to a brief, but intensely critical look at the American Revolution and subsequent Pretendependence from the British Empire, there is a lot to discuss on this topic, and we will leave no turn unstoned.
The United States has truly become the Land of the Slave and the Home of the Fee, a truly epic, landmark failure in sociological experimentation, or, worse, a farce from the beginning (I am inclined to suspect the latter). It is the land of restriction, collective pathological denial, and division. Somehow, nearly the entire population seems to have missed the "united we stand, divided we fall" memo. Still, not one to give up, and motivated by the promise of unlimited potential, I say "Fuck it, lets celebrate anyways," and see if we can find a way forward. One for all, and all for One.
