Jeff Bezos' Ego-Filled Trip to Space

This week on 51/49, James dives into the "Billionaire Space Race".

On July 20, 2021, Jeff Bezos will be flying to space on the first crewed flight of the New Shepard, the rocket ship made by his space company, Blue Origin. Another billionaire Richard Branson is also planning his own space flight with his company Virgin Galactic just a few days earlier on July 11.

But despite the media narrative that returning to space is akin to some kind of impressive grand noble effort to save our planet, Bezos and Branson's trip to space is all about ego, nothing but a thinly veiled attempt to brainwash people into believing that if you can figure out a way to exploit people for billions in profit on Earth—you too can take a 10 minute joyride under the guise of “benefiting the earth”.
