Knife making: DIY Hand Forging a Hidden Tang Knife Blade From Scrap San Mai Part 1

I made my first San mai knife a few weeks ago and because it was mainly stock removal, I had quite a few larger scraps. So in this video I go through forging and heat treating a small hidden tang skinner blade from one of those scraps. I initially had to reflux and re weld the Billet which seemed to work fine.

It was normalized 3 times after quenching in heated canola oil.
