Federal government announces travel fund to help Ukrainians fleeing to Canada – April 20, 2022

At a news conference in Halifax, Immigration Minister Sean Fraser provides an update on federal support for Ukrainians displaced by the Russian invasion of their country. He announces the launch of the "Ukraine2Canada Travel Fund", an initiative in partnership with Miles4Migrants, the Shapiro Foundation, and Air Canada. The minister is joined by David Rheault, vice-president of government and community relations for Air Canada, and Sarah MacIntosh-Wiseman, director of the Shapiro Foundation.
