Public Workshop, attainable workforce housing (03082022 original date)

At the Jan 22, 2022 retreat of the BOCC, Commissioners brought forth ideas of items needed for our county. Try as she might Commissioner Schlabach could NOT get others in the room to agree to the fact that Citrus County needed to entice a developer to bring smaller single family homes to Citrus County. These homes would be slightly less expensive allowing for "workforce" housing. Commissioner Schlabach labeled this "attainable" housing.
A public workshop was scheduled and it took no time at all for #shellgameOliver to bring a presentation on Section 8 or Low-income housing. The entire workshop was hijacked by talk of this low income or "restricted" housing. Commissioner #specialinterestKinnard talked only of rentals. #lovealltaxesandfeesDavis was no help at all. #EmperorKitchen did actually try to have a discussion and when #worksforusSchlabach tried to bring the discussion back to ideas for "Attainable" housing, she was again derailed by talk of loans, grants, government subsidies, barndominiums, guest cottages, VRBO, motherinlaw units, garage apartments..
Are these people truly as stupid as they appear or are they hell bent on making sure one Commissioner NEVER actually can get her ideas off the ground. This sounded and looked exactly like a left leaning derailment!
You can hear my previous interview with Commissioner Schlabach at the following link. I would love to hear your thoughts!
