Neville Brothers | One Love (People Get Ready)

"One Love/People Get Ready" is the Reggae anthem by Bob Marley & The Wailers from their 1977 “Exodus” album. The song contains an interpolation of The Impressions' song "People Get Ready" written by Curtis Mayfield. That’s why both Bob Marley and Curtis Mayfield are credited with the song.

Bob Marley did not ‘invent’ Reggae. It happened. Reggae emerged in the late 70’s, on the waves of the Black Liberation Movement of the 60’s, spiritual freedom and expression of ‘self’. Marley became its icon. Reggae has had many influencers, as it has become an influencer in its own right. The spirit of Reggae is ‘One Love’ as it is superbly expressed by the Neville Brothers in this video.
